Nebula!

Here is our surprise Christmas present that we had to go pick up at the airport on Sunday. Her full name on her AKC papers will be Nebula Winter Juliet. Romeo pretty much hates her right now but I hope they fall in love eventually.

We were so worried at first when we went to pick her up from the cargo dock because they told us the tracking number the breeder gave us didn't exist!! AHHH we thought we had been scammed because we purchased her from someone in Ohio and had her shipped over to us.

buuuut don't worry, turns out her flight was delayed because of weather so the tracking number didn't exist on that flight but she arrived a few hours later. What a relief. We love her so much, I just wish puppies were born potty trained. lol. I can't even imagine what I will do when it's a child I'm trying to potty train. ahhh.

Merry Christmas!!

Here is our Christmas video.. woo hoo!!

Make sure you watch the whole thing for a special appearance by the talented Jenson Bell Ringers!! (or chime ringers?.)

This pretty much sums up the whole day.. I am working on editing the video to show you guys our big or should i say really little Christmas present we got on Sunday!! yay.

Merry Christmas! Love You!

I am so excited about this right now..

I just found this recipe online and I am so excited to try it.

CAFE RIO SALAD

There are 3 parts to the salad: the rice, the pork, and the dressing.

[ LIME-CILANTRO RICE ]

2 Tbsp. oil
4 c. long grain rice (6 c. water)
1 bunch cilantro, finely chopped
juice of 2 limes
2 tsp. crushed garlic

Heat oil in a large skillet. Add rice, cilantro, and garlic. Saute 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add water and lime juice and bring to boil. Then reduce heat and simmer until all the liquid is absorbed by the rice (about 20 minutes). You can also use a rice cooker if you have one.

[ CAFE RIO PORK ]

pork roast
1 (16 oz.) bottle of salsa
1 can coke
2 c. brown sugar

Place pork in crock-pot and fill it half way up with water. Cook roast on high for 5 hours. Drain off water. Cut pork in thirds. Mix together ingredients (salsa, coke, brown sugar) and put on top of pork. Cook an additional 3 hours on high. Shred pork with forks. Leave it on low until ready to serve.

[ CREAMY TOMATILLA SALAD DRESSING ]

1 packet hidden valley ranch buttermilk dressing
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. mayo or sour cream
2-3 tomatillas (peel off outer leaf/shell)
1 tsp. crushed garlic
¾ bunch fresh cilantro
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
juice from 1 lime (about 2 tsp.)
salt & pepper

Blend all ingredients in the blender. Refrigerate.

[ SERVING ]

Of course you can assemble everything burrito-style. I prefer salad-style. For one serving, I first put a tortilla on a plate (or a large serving bowl, like the pasta bowl shown in the photo). Then put rice, pork, some chopped lettuce, and the dressing. Finally, garnish your salad with shredded cheese, tomatoes, sliced avocados, or whatever you want.

Note: I strongly prefer and recommend the uncooked tortillas over regular ol' packaged tortillas. Check the refrigerated section of your local grocery store. Our Costco carries them too. Just throw the tortilla in a pan over the stove top, give it a few flips, and it's cooked.

I WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW IT IS!!! AHHHHHh!!!

Lesson #1: Never eat the rest of a woman's chocolate. There will be consequences.
..I don't know what they are yet...but there will be.

Lesson #2: When a man asks "can I eat the rest of this chocolate?" never sarcastically reply, "I guess if you feel like you should." because he will take it literally and indeed eat the rest of your delicious chocolate filled with toffee bits.

hahaha so we have a game we play in our house.. it's called who can scare the crap out of the other person the most game. So yeah, don't mind Jordan's seeming rudeness at the end of the video, he's obviously sad that I'm better at the scare game then him haha!

p.s. 10 points if you count how many times I use the word "awesome"....I gotta stop that.

oh and yeah I think from now on we will do mostly video blogs, it's much faster and easier and more fuN! haha hope you enjoy!

Its about time...

Today marks a great day for The Young Ohana. . .

We finally were able to purchase a washer and dryer. They were delivered this morning and I have never been so happy to do laundry in my life.

Thanks to all of you who kindly let us do laundry at your house for the last 5 months. You have no idea how much we appreciated it although now we will have to find new excuses to come see you!!

.........other than that, not much going on here. We have the flu (hopefully not the swine) so we have just been eating lots of soup, loading up on airborne and orange juice, and bummin around the house. livin the life ;)

p.s. Has anyone seen that video on the news about the pro cheerleader who got the swine flu vaccine and it crippled her for life.??? ommmg I can't stop thinking about it.

haha k bye.

our house is falling apart.

Okay so if you haven't been following along with the many troubles that home-ownership has caused us..here is a little review.

All was well when we moved in until we used our Master Shower...turns out the sheet rockers nailed right through the pipes and we had some major leakage throughout our master closet and down through the ceiling of the lower level...
so this is the hole that resulted in the closet-thats the pipe that had nails running through it.
don't know if you can tell but this is the ceiling beam on the lower lever, it had a long crack running down the length of the beam and water dripped out every time we used the shower.. well it ended up cracking down the wall too..

anyways we finally got that all taken care of.. and then we noticed that our kitchen tiles were lifting and squeaking.

So we had the two worst ones replaced....well we thought everything was over and done..until the tile guys left and we noticed that they tiles they used to replace the squeaky lifted ones were about three shades darker then the rest of the tile in the kitchen!! sooo we had to go through this long process of talking to the home warranty people..having them over to see the tiles. and figuring out a plan..
The Solution: Since the tile c0mpany no longer carried the shade we needed we must re-tile the whole kitchen which would take about a week....yeah..

So here I am today blogging while there are jackhammers downstairs and dust flying all over the house... I'm just waiting for the tile guys to take a lunch break so I can run down there and snag some photos to put up and show you.. I can only imagine what it looks like down there.

annnddd I'm not finished.

To top it of our garage door fell off on Friday haha...so someone should be over to fix that today or tomorrow...
okay it didnt exactly fall off but it fell crooked..so it's not really on the hinges and it won't open or close it's just stuck crooked.. I better go take a picture of that right now in case they fix it before I get one..

Ohhh the joys of a new home :)

Jordan's Birthday!

Okay So we are still a little behind on the blogging scene but there are some important moments that can't be left out before I post all of our current pictures.

Jordan's Birthday 2009 the big 21!! woooo hooooo..

Well I was so excited to give jordan his presents I made him stay up until midnight the night of his birthday so he could open his presents right away!!!
I took a close up picture of the card so I could prove my silly attempt to be crafty. Every year I forget to get Jordan a birthday card...which is so sad becuase he is the best ever and puts tons of thought into picking out cards for every holiday(cute)...luckily we had a ton of scrap book material lying around so I was able to whip together a homemade card!! those are always better anyways right?

Okay...so I decided to wake Jordan up to a wonderful french toast breakfast...and since I am not much of a baker yet I just decided to sing happy birthday right there and just had him blow the candles out which I stuck right in his french toast~
but I gotta run to my dance class so I will finish this post later...

..k i'm back..

so after breakfast we went to Lagoon with Schad and Jamie..
and you can guess that......I FORGOT THE CAMERA!!
ughh..
i know..
We had fun though!

the end.

Random..

I can't remember what date this was so we will just go with sometime shortly after the wedding..

Schad, Jamie, Jordan and Chenelle decided to go on a night hike up Big Cottonwood. Schad knew of this cool spot. It was about a half mile hike...pretty short lol but it led to this HUGE rock that you could climb up on top of and see down the canyon over the valley.

We brought lil Romeo along too...
The View was amazing... After about twenty or so minutes I freaked out because I kept hearing noises and we saw a deer dart so fast right in front of us that I was convinced a bear was coming... so we climbed down the rock and hiked back to the car. I think everyone was bitter that we had driven so far to go on a night hike and then little ol' Chenelle turned into a scaredy cat....well now we know for next time...bring a flash light and a weapon of some kind and I will be fine. haha....

The Honeymoon!!

Okay You will have to be patient with me... I am trying to get all of the pictures up and edited asap so we can finally be up to date on our blog. It may take a while to get everything up from the honeymoon because there are so many fun pictures we took.

buuuut...here we go.

They say the best part is getting there but I think that's only if your not the one driving. Haha..Jordan got to check out all the awesome scenery and take fun pictures ..and SLEEP!!! and I drove.
Photobucket

This was the coolest cloud we had ever seen.. it literally looked like one little brush stroke on the sky.. or like a thumb print. I don't know but it was beautiful.
Photobucket
When we finally got to vegas, we stayed at the Good Ol' Golden Nugget. Our first night wasn't much to write about haha. We checked in our hotel at about 4:30, walked up to our room and literally the second we hit the bed we fell asleep...we woke up the next morning at around 9am and were unsure if the clock meant it was 9pm the night of our arrival or if we had really slept the first 17 hours of our Vegas honeymoon away. I guess we needed it after our stressful drive. About an hour and a half in we got a speeding ticket in Beaver, UT. I wish I would have got a picture of the cop experience. Ugh..still frustrates me. Anywho.. the hotel was on Freemont Street which was an experience in and of itself I will definitely be posting more pictures here :)
Photobucket

Now we were ready to hit the strip.. Notice the rosy cheeks. After our loooong rest we decided to hit the pool.. hahahaha I guess Jordans fragile Hawaiian skin couldn't handle the las vegas rays... he actually ended up getting heat stroke so we went to bed early this night too.. this picture is the following day. Day 3.
Photobucket
This day we just checked out everything that was near our hotel. We walked up and down Freemont Street. . . and our hotel said that the strip was within walking distance so that was the plan, after dinner we set out down Las Vegas Blvd. After about 3 miles we could finally see the space needle hotel in the distance.....annnnd we decided to walk back. Note for Next time: The Golden Nugget is NOT within walking distance of the strip unless you don't mind walking 20 miles round trip. We decided to drive down there the next day and see what it was all about.
Photobucket
this is the pool. you can't really tell but there is a gigantic shark tank that is in the middle of the pool.. the water slide is a clear tube that runs through the tank and it is awesome.. I wish I could have taken a camera down the slide it literally looks like you have sharks swimming all around you.
Photobucket
there was a car show on Freemont Street. There were probably a hundred or so souped up pimped out cars but of all of them I think this one was the coolest. Just an old beat up pickup truck made to look like the truck on CARS. sweet.
Photobucket
Freemont Street at night was BEAUTIFUL! So many lights...everywhere!! there was a show going on over our heads on the light archway thing. It was a rock concert or something. It was awesome.
Photobucket
Jordan checking out the worlds biggest Golden Nugget right inside our hotel.

Photobucket
This is the next day when we went to the strip. We asked this nice looking older couple to take our picture, and lucky for us they spoke very little English. The wife thought we were trying to sell them something I think, so she just kept shaking her head no. Finally the husband understood and took this picture. It was really blurry but we were too exhausted of trying to communicate with them that we decided just to deal with it lol.

We went to the strip the next day too but we didn't take too many pictures. This day was awesome, we saw Cirque du Soleil, ate at the Paris Buffet and at the Ceperie, and did a little more shopping. We almost got in a car accident with a stretch hummer limo filming for some reality tv show that I can't remember the name of because I let one of the limos in and instead of driving he just stopped right in front of us and let 3 other hummer stretch limos in. frustrating. Anyways this is one of the only pictures we have from that day before we left the hotel.

Photobucket

we walked Freemont street again that night before bed and in the morning it was time for checkout and the drive home!
